Dying to Live Here
Homeowners’ associations are universally despised, but in one affluent Florida neighborhood, the HOA president, Rose Martin, made so many of the residents angry that one of them killed her.
Who could have done it? There are as many suspects as there are residents in this seaside community. There’s the heartbroken owner of the poor dog she mowed down. Rose claimed he ran in front of her car, but the dog only had three legs—how fast could he be? Then, there was the fitness instructor operating a booty camp in her front yard. As the possessor of a miraculous combination of zero percent body fat with a D-cup bosom, she was used to getting her way before the HOA tried to put her out of business. Some might be suspicious of the peculiar older man who’s always digging holes in his yard, but one conversation with his wife will convince anyone he’s only doing fake yard work to avoid her.
When Emma Stewart’s best friend, Laura, is accused of the crime, the mismatched pair embarks on an investigation to find the true killer. Fortunately, she has a handsome southern lawyer helping her out (and, less fortunately, his gorgeous female investigator). Emma will have to face her inner demons as well as some devilish neighbors before the real murderer is found.
